AIANTA PRIVACY POLICY
Policy Objective
The American Indian and Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA, “we” or “us”) owns, operates, or provides access AIANTA.org and AIANTA's mobile applications, email newsletters, and other sites, digital platforms and interactive services ("Services"). This Privacy Notice for EU Residents ("Notice") applies only to the Services and does not govern the separate websites, applications, newsletters, platforms and services of AIANTA’s Membership or of any third parties that may link to or be linked to from the Services. This Privacy Notice governs our privacy practices in handling the information we collect about individuals in the EU who use our Services ("you" or "your").
Terms that are not defined in this Notice have the same definitions as AIANTA's Terms of Use. The Contact Details of AIANTA are listed at the end of this Notice. This Notice may be changed if there is a change in the way AIANTA processes personal data or if there is a change in applicable law. We will notify users of changes that are deemed material under applicable law by updating the date of this Notice and providing other information as required. AIANTA employs technical and organizational safeguards to ensure an appropriate level of security for personal data, taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing as well as the risk of varying likelihood and security for the rights and freedoms of natural persons. It is our policy to use appropriate systems and procedures to ensure that your personal information is securely maintained with access limited to those who need access to serve you. A password must be entered to log in to your account, and all personal information is fully encrypted during all transactions.
Although AIANTA will do its best to protect your personal information, it cannot guarantee the security of any information that you disclose online. You accept the inherent security implications of using the Internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security. For your own privacy protection, we encourage you not to include sensitive Information (such as credit/debit card numbers) in any emails you may send to us. Please note that AIANTA will never ask for any personal information via email (e.g., marital status, income, etc.).
Age Limits
You must be at least 13 years of age to submit any User Materials or Personal Data on or through the Services, create an account, or participate in any online forms. AIANTA is a general audience site and does not offer services directed to children. Should any person whom we know to be a child under age 13 send personal information to us, we reserve the right to delete or destroy such information. If the personal information we have for you is incorrect or incomplete, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes. If you cannot update this information, we will update it at your request.
If you decide to close your account, we will deactivate your account and remove your personal information from active view. Please note, however, that we may retain in our files some information associated with your account and past transactions for purposes of information backup, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, investigations and compliance with legal requirements.
