Stables at Tamaya

Stables at Tamaya Information

The Stables at Tamaya are a true reflection of the Tamayame's respect for their land and animals. Housed in the modern facilities are some of the most beautifully groomed, mild-mannered, pampered horses and ponies in the Southwest. Our graceful horses and expert staff offer a unique and fun way to enjoy a peaceful journey around the lands of the Tamayame. Allow our trail guides to tailor a riding program to match your skill level, whether you are a beginner or regular rider. We can also add a memorable element to a wedding or corporate gathering, including specially designed spouse and children's programs for the families of your attendees.

Connie Collis, head wrangler at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa with more than 45 years of horseback riding and training experience, teaches guests the fundamentals of horseback riding and rodeo, while providing professional training and guidance for those guests who want to participate in the weekly event. From the more than 100 horses at the stables, rides are tailored by Connie and the staff to fit the needs of each guest ranging from beginner to daily rider. Over half of our horses are rescue animals.

Children's Pony Rides (Seasonal) The Stables at Tamaya offer complimentary pony rides on a first come first serve basis on select weekends. Pony rides are available in the Grand Courtyard of the resort in the pony corral and available to children three through eight years of age. The Stables at Tamaya also offers children's leadarounds. Children ages four through eight will have great fun riding a horse while our friendly handlers guide them safely around the stables corral. Bring a camera for a photo opportunity you will cherish. Fee is charged.
