Jennifer White is a mother of six, wife and owner (and primary contributing artist) of Post Pilgrim Art Gallery. When Jennifer started as a professional artist she was one of a small handful of Native Artists. Since then she has managed to build an incredible collector base and gain momentum for the Native Art Scene.
Her grandmother was a quilter and her uncle taught the importance of dance, music and the importance of having strong character. As an adult, she began to paint subject matter, gravitating toward her grandmother: the colors of her quilts, the golds and beautiful abstract quality of her shapes. Jennifer believes it is crucial, "to speak as loud as we can as Native people of this country. Our culture is more than what we have been told, our culture is more than what we expect from ourselves. We are going to continue to evolve and conquer our fears; I chose to do it through my art. I am proud to be a Native Painter."
