Hopi Cultural Center

Hopi Cultural Center Information

Hopi translated as 'peaceful people' are said to have lived in this region of the Southwestern United States since time immemorial. Today, among the 12 independent villages of Hopi, exist some of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements on the North American continent dating back to 1100 A.D.

The Hopi are considered to be the oldest Tribe of the Four Corners region and have a current total population of 14,580. The Hopi Reservation is located in Northern Arizona, in which the Hopi land encompasses approximately 1.5 million acres with an elevation of 7,200 feet, offering panoramic views of the surrounding low-altitude desert.

The Hopi Cultural Center is off AZ Hwy 264, between First Mesa and Third Mesa. The Hopi Cultural Center has everything you need to experience the history and culture of the Hopi people.
