The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is located in the high desert of southwestern Colorado, near the Four Corners (where Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona meet). Our 170-acre campus features spectacular views of Mesa Verde and Sleeping Ute Mountain. Two learning centers—replicas of a seventh-century pithouse and a twelfth-century pueblo—bring the ancient past to life. Our archaeological excavation site is located a short drive away. The center engages in archaeological research, education, and partnerships with American Indians. Our research focuses on the history of the ancestral Pueblo people who lived in the Mesa Verde region more than seven centuries ago.

Crow Canyon offers hands-on programs including an Archaeology Day Tour; a free one-hour tour of our research and education facilities; field trips for school groups; summer camps for teens; archaeology digs for adults; and educational tours led by archaeologists and American Indian scholars. Crow Canyon is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
